Gym Rules
Unit 22 Gym Rules
While at the gym please follow these rules for your own safety and enjoyment, and that of others.
1. Respect our Coaches, members and equipment
Please be respectful of Unit 22 Coaches, members and equipment at all times.
2. If you don’t know, please ask
We welcome all fitness levels at Unit 22, from beginners to athletes. If you’re unsure about anything, please ask a Coach.
3. Always follow our Coaches’ instructions
Our Coaches are here to ensure your safety, wellbeing and enjoyment while at Unit 22. Please follow their instructions when you’re on the gym floor.
4. Say hello
Our Coaches make an effort to get to know everyone at Unit 22, please introduce yourself to them and tell them of any health conditions and injuries.
5. No egos
Everyone has different abilities, it doesn’t matter where you finish as long as you finish with integrity and give it your best. Be supportive of everyone and celebrate achievements.
6. Give 100%
Always do the workout as directed by our Coaches, no cheating or shortcuts please. If you’re struggling or you’d like more weight, let a Coach know.
7. Technique, consistency, intensity
Always in that order. It’s important to master your technique and get it right every time before increasing the intensity of your workout. Always ask a Coach for help or advice.
8. Take responsibility for your fitness
Our Coaches are here to support you but please take responsibility for your own training. Write down your WODs and weights, know your limits, know when to rest and don’t ignore any injuries.
9. Keep our gym tidy
Please use our equipment appropriately and put equipment back in the correct place when you’ve finished using it.
10. Dos and don’ts
To maintain our equipment and gym environment, please do:
Store your belongings in an appropriate place away from the gym floor.
Follow the gym rules.
Follow our Coaches’ instructions.
Ask for help or advice when you need it.
Please do not:
Drop the barbell with 5kg plates or less, as they bend and can't take the weight of the bar.
Drop dumbbells, kettlebells or an empty bar.
Use any equipment in a way that’s not its intended purpose.
